The benefits of meat
In addition to essential amino acids (necessary for cell renewal and that the body cannot synthesize on its own), minerals (iron, zinc), meat is a significant source of B vitamins. In France, the average consumption of this type of meat, also known as butcher’s meat (cold meats and poultry excluded), is 55 grams per day. For an adult, a portion of meat of 150 g (net weight on the plate) per day is sufficient, if this portion is eaten all at once at lunch, then there is no need to take more at dinner. To ensure a varied and balanced diet, it is important to eat everything, but without excess of course. Meat is no exception to this golden rule. It can be eaten once or twice a day, alternating with eggs or fish. The key to everyday life is variety.
